Complementing the beauty of the Caribbean in the Dominican
Republic are the festivities. As a country rich in culture, history
and tradition, there are some months of
the year that will surely
educate any tourist about this nation. For those who are visiting the
country for an adult themed experience, our beautiful ladies will be
more than
happy to show them these festivities. If you're planning to enjoy the culture and tradition of this
country with a lovely companion, here are the months with interesting
festivities
in the Dominican Republic:
January - February
For two months, the country will always be in a mood for
celebration starting with New Years festivities. Take note that the
country is largely Roman Catholic, which means their
festivities are
largely rooted in their religion. A good example is the day of
Epiphany which usually happens in the first Sunday of the year. But aside from religious festivities, the
country also celebrates
historical festivals in January and February. January 27 is Duarte's
Day, which is celebrated in honor of the country's founding father,
Juan Pablo Duarte.
February 26 is the country's Independence Day. The
biggest celebration on this day is in Santo Domingo, the country's
capital.
Last Week of March to 2nd Week in April
The Holy Week is considered a very important religious activity
for the Roman Catholics, and the locals in the Dominican Republic are
very serious in commemorating this week.
Called the "Semana
Santa", you'll notice a lot of festivities for one week. The
days from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday are considered the highlight
of these festivals. After the Holy
Week, tourists can visit various cities that hold
separate Kite Flying events. This month of the year is particularly
sunny so many people take the opportunity to enjoy the weather.
June
The 2nd half of the year is largely based on the cultural
background of the country. June is particularly interesting because
there are three festivals happening around the country.
Among them is
the Merengue Festival in Santo Domingo. The city is virtually
transformed into one giant dance stage where everyone can enjoy
Merengue music and dances. In the
north, Puerto Plata holds the same
festivities in the 3rd week of the month with a few additions in the
variety of music. Cabarete is also having their annual Race Week in
June
wherein they feature some of the best wind surfers and other
races in the city.
Security during Festivities
While these festivities will help you enjoy the culture and
tradition of the country, it's still important to remember your
safety. If you're going out with an adult companion be sure
that she
only takes you to public places to enjoy the festivities. If you're
going out alone, get the phone number of the resort so that you can
call them anytime. Be sure to remember
the basic security practices:
no expensive jewelry, keep just enough money and no going into dark
alleys. With security in mind, you can enjoy these festivals more
with your sexy lady.
