One good reason why some tourists love to be in the Dominican
Republic for their vacation is that they can enjoy various beaches in
this country without
the crowd. Punta Cana, Santo Domingo and Puerto
Plata can be a bit crowded because of their popularity, but there are
still places in this country that
offer pristine calm waters with an
air of privacy.
This experience is very common in an adult resort. If you have
just booked an adult vacation, you'll most likely stay in a private
villa with a great view of the
Caribbean with few people in sight.
With a hot Dominican woman at your side, you really can't ask for
more. However, this doesn't mean you have to be in a
private resort or
villa to enjoy peace and quiet in the Dominican Republic. There are a
few resorts around the country that are highly recommended for
those
who just want to enjoy the waters and stroll along the beach. Among
them is Cayo Levantado.
More than a Beach, It's an Island!
Getting to Cayo Levantado is not necessarily a challenge - you
just have to know where to find the right transportation. The island
is located in the northeast
part of Samana province just a few
minutes off the Samana Bay. There are boats that offer transportation
here. If you want to have the full experience of Cayo
Levantado, leave
early in the morning. Unless you're planning to stay in the island
for the night, you can't get the full experience of this beautiful
place. Start
in the morning and take note of the time the boat leaves
late in the afternoon to have a full day here.
Enjoying Cayo Levantado
There are two ways in which you can enjoy this beautiful island.
The first option is to enjoy the pristine waters. You’ll most
likely end up in the water because it
can get hot here. The water
combined with white, fine sanded beach is also very inviting. The second option is to walk around the island. A must visit part
of the
island is the southern region of the island as it provides a
great view of the bay. Another destination within the island that is
highly recommended is the Mirador,
which is the highest point in the
area. Be sure to bring your camera as you'll have a breathtaking
view.
Be Prepared
Although Cayo Levantado is quickly improving in terms of services,
this doesn't mean that the island can be the perfect haven for those
who want to relax.
If you're just there for the day, be sure to bring
protection from the sun's heat (hat and sun block), water and cash in
local currency so that you can purchase
things you need on the beach.
Food is available in various resorts so you really don't have to
bring a gift basket to visit the island. Cayo Levantado is a great
island to visit with a companion. You can also enjoy the beach or
just enjoy the island without sacrificing your privacy.
